The Boston Molasses Disaster of 1919

On a blustery afternoon in 1919, disaster struck Boston. A massive tank filled with sticky, sweet molasses ruptured sending a wall of of the thick liquid crashing through the streets. The force was catastrophic, flattening buildings and burying citizens in a treacly soup. Hundreds of people were lost their lives, and many more sustained injuries.
